Dr. Michael C. Josey is a seasoned primary care physician and the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at Grand Lake Health System in St. Marys, Ohio. With over three decades of experience in medicine, he has made significant contributions to both patient care and the integration of technology in healthcare. As CMIO, Dr. Josey is dedicated to advancing the use of technology to improve clinical practices, streamline workflows and enhance patient outcomes. Currently practicing at Grand Lake Primary Care at St. Marys, Dr. Josey has been providing compassionate, patient-centered care since 1995. He also continues to lead efforts in optimizing electronic health records (EHR) systems, improving clinical decision support, and advancing health IT initiatives to create a more efficient and connected healthcare environment. Before joining Grand Lake Health System, Dr. Josey worked as a General Physician in Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, Canada, from 1991 to 1995. He also served as a Locum Physician in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, in 1991. There, he provided temporary coverage for three practices, offering care in office settings, emergency rooms and for patients in need of general medical attention. Dr. Josey received his Medical Degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and completed a Rotating Internship at the same institution. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Josey has held hospital privileges at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, Ohio, and has previously served at Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital and Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital in Nova Scotia.
